Name Thomas HALKE Relationship with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Baptised 26 Jul 1682 All Saints’ Church, Petham, Kent, England - From KFHS CD 33n.b. the entry before and after the father was shown as 'Mr' but this family were not being so shown as this time.
However, this Thomas and his family were subsequently recorded as Mr or as gent.
An MI showed that Thomas was 65 when he died in 1747, agreeing with the date of baptism and so confirming that it probably was this Thomas who married Mary etc.
Gender Male Died 28 Mar 1747 Buried 3 Apr 1747 All Saints’ Church, Petham, Kent, England - Shown as Mr Thomas Halkes
From KFHS CD 33
The C18th antiquarian the Rev. Bryan Faussett noted in 1756 some MIs from Petham Church, including the following:
"Another. [flat stone in the body of the Church.] In Memory of Mary, Wife of Thomas HALKE Gent. late of this Parish. She died 16 Octob. 1739. Aged 53 Years. Also Hester, Wife of Thomas Halke, Son of ye Above. She died 2d. Jany., 1755. Aged 25 Years. Also Hester Halke died ye 26th of Jany. 1755. Aged 2 Years. Also Mary Halke died ye 9th of March 1756. Aged 3 Years. Daughters of Thomas and Hester Halke. (This Thomas Halke died 28 March 1747. Ag. 65 and is buried under an Alter Tomb in ye Ch. Yard)."

Hasted records this tomb as having 'arms, A fess, between three hawks.' ('Parishes: Petham', The History and Topographical Survey of the County of Kent: Volume 9 (1800), pp. 310-319. On the British History Online website. Date accessed: 16 October 2014.)
From seeing the tomb it is a flat stone but now level with the ground, not raised as one would expect with an altar or table tomb, but perhaps the sides disintegrated the stone was re-positioned at ground level.
It is adjacent to other Halke gravestones.
