Was the marriage of this Ann? (i.e. the daughter of John Gottam and Mary Wild) I think it was. Although her age, as recorded in the 1861 census, suggests she was younger than her baptism would suggest the same applies to her brother Thomas, baptised the same day, so it would appear both may have been buried as young children rather than as infants. (If their parents weren't bothered about baptising their babies this could explain the gap between children - 2 or 3 may have died in infancy, unbaptised).
Besides her age, in favour of this Ann:
- Ann is the only one of her parents children for whom I have neither a burial or a marriage, is this marriage is not her; they were not an elusive family;
- the 1841 census shows 'No' to born in county (Staffordshire) - the only member of the family for whom this was the answer, so it does not look like an error, and would fit this Ann (although the 1861 census shows her as born Wolstanton - unless she had died and Job had married another Ann);
- their were not many 'Gotham' events in Stone Church, but one of the other was the marriage of a brother of this Ann, John, the same year;
- this Ann's brother John was a lock keeper on the canal - he must have met some of the canal boatmen and this could have been how Ann met Job.
