Notes - (Research):
Who were William's parents?
IF William was baptised in Stokenham Church then his age at death would suggest he was the William, son of Sampson and Elizabeth, baptised 22 Sep 1764, though if the age was approximate he might have been the son of William and Susanna, bapt 27 Apr 1762.
If he was not baptised in Stokenham Church he could have been the William bapt in Sherford on 3 Jan 1765, son of Edward and Mary.
The above are from entries on the South Hams website, as at 29 Apr 2012. He may have been baptised at a church whose baptisms for this period are not on that site.
The use of the name Watts might be a clue - most likely his mother's maiden name or that of a grandmother.

SouthHams website has quite a few baptisms of children of "William and Elizabeth Stone" from 1787 to 1808, all in Stokenham, which I think were probably the children of this William and Betty.
There was also the bapt of a Wm Stone in 1785, son of Wm and Ebbet. I wondered if Ebbet was an abbreviation of Elizabeth, but the marriages register shows a Wm Stone married an Ebbet, also in 1785.
Also, in 1783 a Wm Stone married an Elizabeth Norris in Stokenham. It's possible some, or even all, of the children are theirs, but from Betty's sister Susanna's will I do know Betty and William had children.
