    Notes
    • Thomas the son of Thomas married in Stockbury in 1837, aged 19, date confirmed (at least to quarter) by being registered (FreeBMD) and (in new format) in Stockbury PRs. He married Mary Wells.
I can't find a Thomas born about 1817/1818 married to a Mary in the censuses. Thomas seniors other children were born Bredgar so most likely Thomas junior was too.

In addition, I do find a Thomas and  Mary in the censuses, with ages close to those I am looking for, both born Bredgar, who I can't otherwise attach to the tree.

There is a snag, though; the Thomas and Mary I find in the censuses  appear to have had a son baptised on 28 Aug 1836 - i.e. before they married, yet they appear in the register as a married couple.

Despite this, for the moment I am assuming the Thomas and Mary who married in 1837 and the Thomas and Mary I find in the censuses are one and the same.

If they are not, Thomas is still probably a descendant of Richard Whitehead and Mary nee Grigsby.

Grandson Richard, born Upchurch, aged 4 mo, with the family in 1871

Nephew Stephen Earle with the family in 1851
