Family Mary WILLCOCKS, d. Yes, date unknown Married 24 Oct 1831 The Parish Church, Stoke Damerel, Devon, England
- From PR image (on FMP, viewed 18 Aug 2012):

This Marriage was solemnized between us Ambrose Matticott Mary Willcocks [both signed]
In the presence of George Parnall - Geo Nettle No. 348"
Just how many times did Ambrose marry?
I'm sure this is his marriage, since he was married to a Mary at the time of the 1841 census. But there were also marriages of:
"Ambrose Mattacott" in 1795 (in Plympton St Mary, to Sarah Harris (image on FMP), when this Ambrose would have been aged 31),
"Ambrose Matticott" to Ann Hancock in 1808 (12 May) in Eggbuckland (no image on FMP, as of 20 Aug 2012),
to Ann Cross in 1815 (image on FMP), also in Eggbuckland
Neither the bapt nor the burial index on FMP (as of 18 Aug 2012) show any other Ambroses, nor are there any others to be found in the 1841 census
Were all 4 marriages this Ambrose?!
