      Walkhampton from the 1871 census where shown as aged 66 (suggests born abt 1804), it is also the place given in the1881 census when shown as aged 73.

      (1871 with 2 daughters Mary Ann and Jemima, the right ages, so am sure it is the right Mary)

      In addition, baptism was in Walkhampton and no note to show the family were of another parish.

      (one of 3 babies privately baptised June - September in Walkhampton Parish that year; were they all born sickly or was there something around their parents feared them catching?)

    • I am assuming that "Hall Old Poor House" is the same as "Church House" - since Church Houses, after being used for church ales etc. were often used to house the poor or the rent on them used to give out relief to the poor. In addition, the census position suggests it was next door to Hall Farm - which Church House was, and Church House belonged to the Hall family, so this or its position could have resulted in the 'Hall' at the beginning of the name. (It is just listed as "Poor House" at other times). It does not appear in the 1841 census when "Church House" was listed.

      As well William Spurrell, farmer at Hall Farm, being her first cousin he was her son-in-law, as his wife Eliza Elizabeth was her daughter.
