Bastardy Examination - In 1805 Walter Northmore "junior", labourer of Sheepstor, was named as the father of Sarah Gilberd's bastard child in a Bastardy Examination at Sheepstor (on 15th Oct.). I think it must be this Walter.
The Examination was before the child was born; there does not seem to have been a baptism of a child of Sarah's at Sheepstor; either it was elsewhere or Sarah may have lost the pregnancy.
I guess Sarah was the Sarah Gilbert baptised in Sheepstor on 1 Aug 1787 (i.e. the same age as Walter), who was herself illegitimate, and had a sister Mary born 1791, also illegitimate.
