  	From PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 2 Mar 2013) Besides George Henry and Henry George 3 other children were with George at the time of the 1851 census, shown as his: Selina, aged 10, Josiah, aged 9 and Jane, aged 7. Were they really his? - Eliza was a widow when she married him and he was probably only aged about 18 in 1841. It seems to me probable that these were Eliza's children from her first marriage that George had 'adopted'. All were shown as born Devonport, but quick searches for them as Spurrells, Kinsman or Trewarthas in FreeBMD or the baptisms etc. on FMP (as at 2 Mar 2013) have failed to show up any births, baptisms, marriages or deaths, despite the fairly distinctive names of Selina and Josiah.

  	GRO ref: Hosking, Phillippa Jane TO Spurrell, Henry George q4 1876 E Stonehouse RD 5b 583 This shows that Henry and Phillippa had been married 34 years at the time of the 1911 census although that shows 37 years - I think this is due to a mathematical error rather than having the wrong family or wrong marriage, the details and name Phillippa in particular are not common enough to muddle. The census also shows the couple had had 12 children, 5 of whom had died by the time of the census. Of the 7 remaining, 6 were living with them. Thomas seems to be the one still living but not at home; 2 aren't in any census so were probably born after one census and died before the next.
