William SPURRELL, d. Yes, date unknown (Grandfather)
Catherine DOWDLE, d. Yes, date unknown (Mother)Notes - (Research):I am guessing the existence of a dau of Thomas and Catherine I have yet to find. Their son John in his will refers to his late nephew John Pode. That nephew fits well with the John Pode who died in 1782. If the 'nephew' was exactly that, not a great nephew or nephew-in-law or whatver then he must have been the son of a sister of John Spurrell the will writer.
The terms nephew and niece could be used more loosely, though, to refer to younger family members (sometimes it is used for a grandchild), so the way I have linked the 2 Johns, Pode and Spurrell, may not be quite right.
