Catherine, d. Jul 1757, Thurlestone, Devon, England (2 x Great Grandmother) Notes - Daugher of a Slapton farmer, Anna married farmer Richard Cawse who farmed at Dearswell, Slapton, so life was presumably similar to what she had grown up with.
Her father appears to have been living with the family when he died in 1839, possibly since her mother died some 3 years earlier.
In 1841 and 1851 Anna had the help of a live-in female servant, but not in 1861 and 1871 - presumably because by 1861 Rosa Anna was old enough to help (and no longer at school).
By 1881 Anna and Richard were retired and had moved to Wolborough. They now had 2 live-in servants, and also with them was their daughter-in-law Emma (wife of James) and 2 grandchildren (children of Emma's).

In the section for the banns the brides name is given as Ally Pepperel - Lydia's mother's name! It is correctly Lydia both times in the marriage section.
The witnesses were Samuel Pepperell, probably either Lydia's father or first cousin with the name (other young people were very often witnesses) and Philip Mortimore, presumably Parish Clerk.
