    Notes
    • (Research):Who was the father of Joanna's first 2 children? - presumably he had the surname Weeks. I wondered if they were living as man and wife, and he died before she married George Bridgeland, but there is no burial for a male Weeks in Headcorn between 1805-1808.
A 41 yr old James Weeks of Ulcombe was bur in Headcorn in 1817, and a 58 year old William of Headcorn in 1823. These are possibly the most likely candidates as father of Johanna's children, but it could well have been someone not buried in the village.

    • Marr by banns, Wm of Egerton made his mark, Joanna otp spinster - I assume signed, no mark shown in index.
Witnesses were Basil Hunt and Boswell Beacon - acc to KFHS transcript (CD 16).
I'm sure "Boswell" refters to one of the Basil/Bowell Be(a)cons - probably Joanna's brother, since there seems to have generally been a preference for young witnesses of a similar age to those getting married, though it could have been her father. Basil Hunt was probably her 1st cousin of this name (son of Richard and her aunt Isabella Hunt nee Becon)
