    • GRO ref: Northmore, James TO Holme, Elizabeth OR Hoyle, Elizabeth q3 1902 Bootle RD 10b 1171 (i.e. both brides on the index page called Elizabeth). Since a Hoyle is buried with James and Elizabeth and their son, or at least recorded on the same gravestone, I am sure Elizabeth must have been a Hoyle.

      No more children that could be theirs had births registered in Bootle RD (checked to 1930); given that James was buried there I expect that is where any would have been born, so it looks sadly as though they only had the one son, who death aged just 5 is then all the more tragic.
