    • From image of PR entry, on Ancestry, viewed 13 Dec 2013. This shows that Elizabeth was baptised in the Parish of St. Nicholas Olave. I am assuming it would have been in the Church of St. Nicholas Cole Abbey (see below)

There are a couple of puzzles about this entry:
      1. The date
Year not given, and entry comes between one for Dec 1861 and January 1862! However, also between these is one in a February where the birth is shown as having been in January 1862, and the registration of Elizabeth's death shows she was born Sept 1861, so it seems probable that the baptism was in 1862. Also, John and Imogene had another child baptised in Feb 1863 and would have probably have had Elizabeth baptised at the same time if they hadn't got around to it before.

      2. The location
Like so many churches St. Nicholas Olave Church was burnt down in the great fire of London (1666). However several sources - all those seen - agree that it was not rebuilt, but the parish combined with the neighbouring one of St. Nicholas Cole Abbey, also destroyed in the fire but which was replace with a Wren church.
Yet there were separate registers kept for the 2 parishes - according to the LDS from 1704. Perhaps the parishes had not been united, but were just sharing the same church? The same clergy were shown as conducting the baptisms in both parishes, at least around the early 1860s.
