Died Jun Q 1859 Plympton Reg Dist, Devon, England
- GRO ref: GLOYNE, James q2 1859 Plympton RD 5b 154
(2nd digit of page not clear, but I think it's 5 and this would be correct for a Plympton page - 3 or 6, other possibilities, wouldn't)
Baptised 27 Feb 1859 St. Mary’s Church, Tamerton Foliot, Devon, England
- From PR entry (viewed on FMP, 19 Feb 2014):
under heading "Baptisms ... Tamerton Foliott ... 1859" - "Feby 27th. No. 645. James, parents Joshua & Ann Gloyne, abode Tamerton, father a labourer, ceremony performed by G. F. Arthur"
(the next entry, for a baptism on the same day, was of a child with a middle Christian name Northmore - James Northmore Horton ROWE; on investigation it is clear that JNHR was like James Glyn descended from Solomon Northmore baptised in 1712. JNHR was descended from Solomon's sons Richard and Solomon, James Gloyn from their brother John. This was a few generations bakc, though, so the 2 Jameses were not closely related, 4th cousins once removed, so their baptism being on the same day may well have been chance rather than design)
