Agnes WILLS
Set As Default Person -
Name Agnes WILLS Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Est 1667 - Estimate based on date of marriage to John Narramore and his age.
Northmore Newsletter no. 10 p.44 shows Agnes born about 1675 - but this assumed that the Agnes Narramore who married William Ball was born a Narramore, and the daughter of John Narramore (b. c. 1632), and so was probably an estimate based on that.
It is clear from the Court of Chancery case that followed the death of her husband that Agnes was born a Wills, and married William Ball as a Narramore widow. (The same Chancery case also names her father)
Gender Female Bequest Abt 1699 In her husband John Narramore's will - Left 'three Milk Cows twenty Deay Sheepe of one year old & twenty Ewes of two years old my white nose mare & my riding Colte', 'all my household good & implmts of household of wt nature or kind soever' equally divided between Agnes and John's mother, 'two oxen called Ladd & Jolly' and various land.
Unusually, this does not appear to have been dependant on Agnes remaining a widow, so presumably she was still entitled to this after her remarriage to William Ball in 1699.

Family 1 John NARRAMORE, bap. 17 Jan 1664/65, St. John the Baptist Church, Bishopsteignton, Devon, England
, d. Abt 1699 (Age ~ 33 years) Married Abt 1688 - John possibly married a cousin, since his mother and his wife's maiden names were both WILLS.
Regarding the date:
TNA document says
"Anne Narramore & John her son did in or about the sd year of our Lord God one thousand six hundred eighty & eight upon his the sd John Narramores intermarriage with Agnes Wills now the wife of William Ball both Defts to the now Complts bill & in consideracon of the sd marriage & before the solempnizacon thereof by deed convey ..." - yet the document quoting John's will also gives the date 1688 for him writing it, and in it he refers to his 4 children.
Either one of the dates is wrong or John was married before. However, if I have the right baptism for him, he was rather young to have had several children by an earlier marriage.
I think most likely the date of the will is wrong - 1698 would fit much better, or if the scribe mis-read a nine as an eight he may have done so with both digits and the year been 1699.

Family 2 William BALL, d. Yes, date unknown Married 17 Aug 1699 St. Petrock’s Church, Exeter, Devon, England
- From PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 10 Mar 2015):
"Aug: 17th Wm: Ball of Kingskerswell Yeoman & Agnes Narramore Widow were Married." - under heading 'Anno D: 1699.'
Also in Northmore Newsletter no. 10 p.44 - that assumes Agnes was a Narramore by birth, but the dispute over her husbands estate shows that after being widowed she married William Ball.
The children are assuming this William Ball was the only William Ball having children baptised in Kingskerswell at this time, but having not researched the Ball family this may be a false assumption.
