John PIDSLEY
Set As Default Person -
Name John PIDSLEY Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Baptised 7 May 1663 St. John the Baptist Church, Bishopsteignton, Devon, England
[1] Gender Male Trustee Abt 1698 In the will of John Narramore - John Narramore asked and empowered his cousin with three others to 'To have full power & authority to sell & alien or dispose of all or any part of my goods & chattles Lands or tenemts given & bequeathed to my Execs for paymt of my debts & my Children to be provided for during their minority', according to the discretion of all four or any 2 of them, naming them as trustees for his children. However, John Pidsley's own early death around the same time as John Narramore's would have meant he would have done little if anything in this role.
Will 1699 - John left a will but it appears only to survive as a list entry in Fry. (Pidsley, John of Teington Episcopi, 1699)
Died - A Mary Pidsley who I think is shown as a widow married the Vicar, Christopher Locke, in 1709 - I think it was probably the widow of this John (there weren't many Pidsleys in Bishopsteignton - for the years I have searched, 1661 - early 1700s - I haven't found any others than this family)
Buried 24 Jun 1699 St. John the Baptist Church, Bishopsteignton, Devon, England

Most entries on the page (1698-1700) followed by 'c', 'y', 'o' or 'p' or occasionally 2 (e.g. a widow 'o' & 'p'; a Sarah Bab "y.p."; 'c' seems to mean child as some have parents names and / or are followed by a comment e.g. "c of an yeo", "c of Lab". 'p' may mean 'poor' - the last entry on the page has no initial but this word, as do many on the following page where initials are dropped and replaced by an occupation and / or the comment 'poor' (a number are clearly children - parents named, and it is presumably the father's occupation that is then given).
In a few cases on the page with John's burial an 'occupation' replaces the intial - thus 'gent' is in the same column. (Several are 'yeo' (yeoman) and at the end of the page - after the ending of initials -is a 'lab')
