    • ** n.b. ** There is no firm evidence that William and Jane had a son Henry. It seems probable since their son George and his wife were the witnesses at Henry's wedding; although they could have been related in some other way the family had been quite small for a couple of generations so there weren't many cousins.
      In addition, although William and Jane appear to have had 2 sons named William there is no firm evidence that the first had died; the second is very unlikely to have been called William if he hadn't. It is possible that William was written in the reigster by mistake, that he was actually called Henry.

      Although another possibility is that William and Jane had a son Henry born after the 2nd William or before the first, the age of the second William is right for the age given at burial as well (I understand) as that from his apprenticeship info.

      I suspect he was baptised Henry, but the priest (or Parish Clerk, if the former delegated the task to him) forgot the correct name when he completed the register entry.
