    • Witnesses: At most marriages in Slapton up to this time a Robert Edwards was witness - probably Parish Clerk. (After this the name changes to Roger Edwards - I guess he took over)
      I don't know what the connection with John Kellond was. It is of interest to me since I had ancestors John Kellond living in Slapton at this time, and I believe it is the one bapt 1716, who was married to a Catherine (whose maiden name I don't know) who was the witness - the signature is very similar to that John made when he remarried in 1762.
      Interestingly, at that marriage a John Bennet (Dorothy's father or brother?) was a witness, so if there was a relationship (and not just a friendship) then it seems probable it was between the Kellonds and Bennett / Belletts.
