    • Harpford is some distance from Halwell / Blackawton (over 40 miles, maybe slighter shorter by direct routes that may have been used in the past), but even today the journey takes about an hour. However, the description of Solomon as 'of Black=Otten' confirms it was probably this one; more-or-less certainly the one buried 1683 even if he was not the one baptised in 1608. The Solomon who married Gertrude was apparently still living in 1680 when Gertrude was buried.
