Robert PEPPERELL
Set As Default Person -
Name Robert PEPPERELL Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born (probably), Stokenham, Devon, England
- 'of Stokenham' when he married Hannah
Baptised 15 Aug 1753 St. Michael and All Angels’ Church, Stokenham, Devon, England
Gender Male Occupation 1777 Stokenham, Devon, England
Butcher - noted at the time of his marriage
Residence 1827 Hollacombe, Stokenham, Devon, England
- When Robert wrote his will
Will 18 Jul 1827 Written Residence 1830 Down, Stokenham, Devon, England
- His abode at the time of his death.
This is where his son Samuel lived and based his farming for most if not all of his working life. Does Robert's living thing indicate that Samuel took over from his father, or did Robert and Hannah go to live with their son in old age? I don't know (haven't tried to research)
Died 10 Mar 1830 - Date recorded by W.A. Roberts from gravestone (P355 in his book); age given as 78. (Roberts records wife's name from the same grave as Joanna, I wondered if Robert had remarried, but burial register indicates this to be a misreading; age also different from burial register - baptism date suggests the register is correct so that might be a misreading too)
Buried 15 Mar 1830 St. Michael and All Angels’ Church, Stokenham, Devon, England
- shown as aged 76, abode Down
