in the Presence of : James Frank Frend Perrett, Rhoda Ann Elizabeth Lapthorne"I guess her father's name was left off as he was not legally her father - or maybe she had fallen out with him and chose not to give the information. She clearly knew who he was, living with him at least to the age of 14.
The 1911 census shows that Charles and Edith had had 4 children, 2 of whom were still living. There were only 4 Lapthorn births registered in Stoke Damerel / Devonport 1893 - 1911, the 3 whose baptisms I have found and one other which I am therefore pretty sure must be their child.
