There is a monument in St. Clement's Church to Thomas, described by Worthy as having the arms of Boone and Upton.

Notes - (Research):Thomas clearly had some sort of relationship to my ancestors, but probably just by marriage, through the Nicholas family of Dartmouth, but at present I don't know quite how Thomas Boone is related so he is not linked in (other than very distantly by the Rous connection).
In his will he describes Stephen Knowling, brother of my 10 x great grandmother Sarah, as his 'intimate kinsman and friend'.
If he was Stephen's blood relation, then he was probably Sarah's too, and so my relation. (Probably because although clearly siblings and with the same surname, suggesting they shared a father, it is possible that Stephen and Sarah had different mothers - and Stephen could have been related to Thomas through his mother's side). But the term kinsman may have been used loosely, such that Thomas was really a relation of Stephen's wife, Anstis.
Thomas wrote his will in 1677/8 so the link to Stephen cannot have been because Thomas's 'niece's'* granddaughter, Mary Bayley, married Stephen's nephew (my 9 x great grandfather) Walter Wotton, as this marriage did not take place until 1691.
I think it is probably a Nicholas link, through Stephen's wife, as other evidences suggest that Hannah Bayley nee Harford had Nicholas close relations (see my research notes on her page).
* Willmott, the wife of Anthony Harford, who Thomas refers to as his niece, was probably of a similar age as Thomas. If I am right that she was a Nicholas, she cannot have been a full niece of either Thomas or his wife, on the Nicholas side. Possibly niece isn't quite right, she was the child of a half-sibling, or the Boone link was not through the Nicholas family. It would not be surprising if there were not several links by marriage between these families, so the link to Stephen Knowling may be through a different route to that to Hannah Harford.
