  	His mother Hannah was orphaned when she was 10, having lost her mother when only 2. The youngest of a large family, I expect Hannah's oldest sister Elizabeth helped to care for Hannah from the time their mother died (when Elizabeth was 15). When Hannah was eight Elizabeth married, to Edward GOATHAM. Whether from then or from her father's death, I know not, but I expect Hannah lived with and was looked after by  Edward and Elizabeth. The naming of a son after Edward suggests she wished to acknowledge him playing a role in her life.
