Although there were quite a few Ernest Todds there were no Ernest E Todds born in Edmonton at an appropriate time, nor any others with a middle name whose initial letter could be that in the marriage entry. The fact that Leontine moved to Sheppey suggests he could have had a link with the island, and sure enough there is this birth which I think was Leontine's husband's. No deaths (or marriages) of an Ernest Todd seem to have occurred on Sheppey but the order of Christian names not infrequently varies from one record to another. And an Edward E Todd did die on Sheppey, as would seem likely if he returned to the island with his wife.

    Notes
    • (Research):Whilst I could have the wrong 'Ernest Todd' as Leontine's husband, I haven't found any other marriage for him, not looking at couple of trees on Ancestry on which he appears have others (the other trees do not show any marriage for him).

    • GRO ref: Richardson, Leontine A to Todd, Ernest ? q1 1916 Edmonton RD 3a 1188
(initial letter of Ernest's middle name so clogged up with ink in the index as to be uncertain. Rectangle - could be M, N, H, B but looking at other capital letters on the page it was most likely an E or an R)

      Children of the marriage:
There were quite a few male Todd marriages marriages with a female Richardson on the page who could have been having children at the same or an overlapping time as Ernest and Leontine. However, most of these were in the north of England. There was, though, an Arthur H S Todd married Rosa W RIchardson in 1913 in St Giles RD (Middx / London) and so although at first the birth of a Bettine in Edmonton in 1918 seemed likely to be a child of  Edward and Leontine I now believe she was the child of Arthur and Rosa, with whom she was living at the time of the 1939 register. (Arthur was born Glos. and mother's maiden name shows he was not a brother of Edward so it is unlikely they were closely related and Bettine with an uncle and aunt)
It also seems fairly safe to assume that all the other Todd births registered 1914 - 1935 with a mother's maiden name of Richardson were children of other couples (apart from Doris on Sheppey, but her birth was also indexed with her as a Goatham, and it is clearly this name she used).
