    Notes
    • (Research):At the time of the 1841 census Halke Birch was living with a Sarah Birch rounded down age given as 55, and a William and a George Birch, age of both given as 20. Given that in later censuses William is with a 'sister' Mary Birch, born c. 1790, I am sure that Sarah was the wife of this Halke, not a son with the name, and so Mary was Halke's daughter (and William's sister) by a previous marriage.
