  • Name Elizabeth FAIRMAN
    Relationshipwith Teresa Ann GOATHAM
    Born Abt 1760
    • From age in burial register.
Baptised 7 May 1761  (probably), Ss. Peter and Paul’s Church, Upper Hardres, Kent, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location
    • PRs with Upper Hardres baptisms only survive from 1764.
It seems likely she was the Elizabeth Fairman daughter of John and Elizabeth, baptised 7 May 1761, from transcribed data from BTs or ATs on FS film 1736724. FS show the place as Ham, but this is the first parish on the film and they frequently wrongly show the first parish rather than the right one. Images of Ham PRs are on FMP and do not inlcude such a baptism. It probably was at Upper Hardres.
(I have not yet checked PRs for other parishes on the film, which may be on FMP - Harbledown, Lower Hardres, Harrietsham and Hartlip)
Upper Hardres is particularly likely as the location as another child of John and Elizabeth Fairman (a son John) was baptised there in 1766.
    Gender Female
Buried 22 May 1814  Ss. Peter and Paul’s Church, Upper Hardres, Kent, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location
    • From East Kent burial index (transcribed data on FMP) - whether this is from the PRs or BTs is not clear. Images for some Upper Hardres PRs are on FMP but not for burials after 1811 (possibly it is still in use - not confirmed with CCA).
      The transcribed data shows:
Elizabeth Birch, age 53, buried 22 May 1814, abode Stelling
Almost certain burial; there seems to be no burial of an Elizabeth Birch in Stelling where she lived with her husband before he remarried. As she came from Upper Hardres this is the 2nd most likely place for her burial, and as the register shows her abode as Stelling it becomes more likely to be her. In addition the age is a likely one.
