  		The Old Font in Kingston Church This font probably dates from when there was first a church in Kingston. However, as it was rescued in 1775 from being used as a feeding trough for pigs, but not restored to use as a font in Kingston Church until 1931, it is unlikely to have been where Elizabeth's baptism would have taken place. I didn't see another font which may have been used after this one was thrown out.

  	From PR entry (image on FMP, viewed 5 Aug 2015) "1762 Oct 13 William Ellen of this Parish & Abigail Halke of Godmersham were married by Banns" Gravestone shows Abigail was the daughter of a William Halke as well as the wife of William Ellen, and is next to that of the William Halke who I believe was her father (and which mentions his daughter Abigail), so there can be little doubt that it was this Abigail who married William Ellen, despite her being unexpectedly shown as 'of Godmersham' at the time of her marriage. Five children listed (William, Thomas, Halke, Mary and Elizabeth) were those left a bequest by their aunt Frances Halke, and so living when she wrote her will in Nov 1790.
