Marie
Set As Default Person -
Name Marie Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Est 1580 - Estimated from her first (known) husband's baptism and the dates of baptism of her children (by both marriages).
Gender Female Died - Was Mary's burial that recorded as Wido BLUSH in 1657/58 (on 1 Feb)? I think quite likely, but not certain.
In the early 1600s BLUSH children were baptised - 1608 and 1611, of George; 1616 and 1623, of Henry and 1617 and 1620, of Thomas.
The last BLUSH baptism (in the KFHS transcribed data ) was in 1632/33 - Thomas, illegitimate son Mary BLUSH, reputed father Stephen DENTON (of Tudley).
So, the widow Blush was probably the widow of George, Henry or Thomas.
A George was buried in 1614, and a widow of George in 1613. Is there an error here or (as I think is the case) the widow was of an earlier George? A George had married Alice Portery in 1607, fitting well with the baptism dates above. An Alice Blush married in Marden in 1615 - presumably Alice the widow of George.
That just leaves Henry's wife as the other possible widow Blush buried in 1657/8.
A wife of Henry bur 1614, clearly not the wife who had children 1616 and 1623. Only one burial of Henry - pos he had more than one wife and it was this Henry who was bur 1624. No obvious burial of a widow (or wife) of Henry in Marden other than this possible one. Henry's son was buried in infancy, no sign of marriage or burial of his daughter in Marden - maybe the family left the parish. But no sign of marriage or burial of Thomas and Mary's daughter Sarah, either, so did they leave?
Notes - Named as widow of Edward in her father-in-law's will.

"June 1615 Thomas Blush & Mary Burr were maried the 5th day"
There were marriages of Mary BURs in Marden in 1612 and 1615. The will of William BURR (died 1612) shows his daughter Mary to be the wife of John WALKER, and that his son Edward's widow was called Mary; hence I think this marriage probably this Mary's remarriage. The will of William ('middle'), son of the afore mentioned William describe's Mary Blush, wife of Thomas as his sister. However, the fact that Mary was shown as Mary Bur and not Mary Walker, together with William 'middle''s blood sister Mary appearing to have died in 1614 point to it being this Mary who married Thomas Blush, and suggest William 'middle' was referring to his sister-in-law as his sister (this was not unusual, though I'm not sure if it often found at the same time as others are described as 'in-law', as is the case here). Further evidence that it was this Marie who married Thomas is that in the inventory of her son William 'junior'. In that Thomas Blush is described as father-in-law (a term often used in the past for step-fathers).
