Gender Male Occupation From 1851 to 1861 Ag lab Occupation to 1869 The Station, St. Mary Cray, Kent, England
Railway Porter - London, Chatham and Dover Railway - Since John was working as an ag lab in1851 and 1861, how did he come to die when working as a railway porter? The LCDR (then under the name East Kent Railway) did not begin until 1858, and an extentsion from Canterbury to Dover opened in July 1861. This included a station at Bekesbourne, only about 1.5 miles from Bridge. I think it likely that the railway being so close encourage John to seek employment with it, sadly resulting in his early demise.
Died 18 Jan 1869 Railway Station (London Chatham and Dover Rly), St. Mary Cray, Kent, England
Cause: Killed in the course of his work as a railway porter - GRO ref: Fuller, John q1 1869 aged 28 Bromley RD 2a 217
The death registration index doesn't show any death of a John Fuller in Kent aged around 29 in 1869 (i.e. to fit with the burial). There was a 28 yr old died in Bromley RD (at St. Mary Cray Station). This death was of a railway porter, who died in an accident - was it this John and he was brought back to Bridge to be buried?
It seems it was. A newspaper report of the accident describes him as 'a native of Bridge' - not quite correct, but clse enough, especially given his parents were living in Bridge at the time he died and it is where his body was buried. His age is also not quite correct, but checking the birth registration index, indexes of baptisms and census entries there is no other John Fuller born or living in the Bridge area of close to the age given.
Report of the death in the Maidstone and Kentish Journal, 25 Jan. 1869, p.7, col. 2
"Fatal Accident. - On Monday last a goods porter named John Fuller, aged 28, was engaged in shunting a goods train at the St. Mary Cray station, of the London, Chatham, and Dover Railway, and when in the act of coupling it he was caught by the buffer and knocked down, a portion of the train passing over him and killing him instantly. An inquest was held on the body of the deceased, on Wednesday, at the Black Boy public house, before C. J. Carttar, Esq., when the jury returned a verdict of "Accidnetal Death." The unfortunate man is single, and a native of Bridge, near Canterbury."

I think John is probably this one though age given in burial register as 29 - only one year out. Adding weight to this, I couldn't find him in 1871 (closest was a John B, born Canterbury in about 1837, a widower with a 14 yr old son, but this John was single, no sign of son in 1861 and John B can be found as a tin plate worker in London; it seems clear he was a different John Fuller).
A John Fuller shown as 73 did die in Bridge RD in 1907; not found in earlier censuses in / close to Bridge, he may have died there due to being in the asylum in Chartham.

Shows George Fuller, bach of Bridge, Peggy Rose, sp otp, both made their mark; witnesses were Wm Hodges (a witness to many - probably the Parish Clerk) and Sarah Keeler (both witnesses signed)
It looks like Peggy and George had a joint wedding with Peggy's brother William, who married Jane Keeler. Same date, same place and William and Jane had the same witnesses.
