Looking at Old Towne Ward, the most common number of hearths was 2 (22 of the 66 households with a legible figure), and another 23 had 1 or 3 hearths, putting Andrew in the top third. Nine households had 4 hearths, 12 having from 5 to 10. Comfortably off but not wealthy is probably the appropriate conclusion, which would seem to agree with other evidence.
