Shown as born Lurgashall in the 1871 census, but Lodsworth in the 1881 census and in his RN service record. In 1871 the family were living in Lickfold, in Lodsworth parish, but this was very long and thin and Lickfold some distance from Lodsworth village, much closer to Lurgashall village; it is easy to see how confusion might arise.
The date of birth in the service record is shortly before the baptism in Lurgashall, a likely date and further evidence that it was the Harry baptised in Lurgashall who joined the navy.

Name of father and age of Harry Knight, as well as his occupation, fit with the Harry baptised in Lurgashall and the one in the navy. Father's occupation not right - land steward (Harry's baptism record shows labourer, and 1871 census labourer and hoop maker) but this was often exaggerated.
