Mr. George Stephen Goatham, of West Street, Sittingbourne, died at his home last week, aged 78 years. Mr. Goatham came to the town six years ago after living most of his life in London. He had served 23 years in The Queen's Own Buffs.
The funeral was on Friday afternoon at Sittingbourne Cemetery.
His mother-in-law[*], Mrs. Mary Goatham, of West Street, Sittingbourne, who died at All Saints' Hospital on 17 March, was buried at Sittingbourne Cemetery last Wednesday.
Mrs. Goatham was born in Ireland 75 years ago and came to London during her childhood. She had lived in Sittingbourne since her marriage to Mr. Goatham 55 years ago."
