  	GRO ref: Goatham, Elizabeth to Christie, Harry q4 1890 Lewisham RD 1d 1738 With Harry dying before 1911 the census of that year does not show how many children Elizabeth had had in her first marriage. Whilst it seemed likely that Harry and Elizabeth had more children than these 3 well-spaced, who had been born and died between censuses, the BMD index of Christie births and deaths in Camberwell district shows no other children born after the marriage who could be theirs born before the 1901 census. In addition, checking the GRO online index for Christies with a mother's maiden name of Goatham (born anywhere in England or Wales) also finds no other children of Harry and Elizabeth.

  	GRO ref: Christie, William Harry q4 1891 Camberwell RD 1d 860 Details from PR entry (image on Ancestry, viewed 11 Feb 2015) With a name like Smith there were inevitably a number of Christie = Smith marriages, so identifying children of this marriage using the mother's maiden name column in the BMD index is harder than is often the case. However, the latest marriage in 1912 or earlier close to Camberwell of a Christie groom where one of the 2 brides on the same page was a Smith bride appears to have been in Woolwich district in 1892, with a few others closer in Labeth and Wandsworth a little earlier. (of course the marriage index shows the bride's surname at the time of her marriage, which was not necessarily her maiden name, so I could have missed one or more). However, given that these marriages were sometime before 1912 and not in Camberwell district it seems probable that the 2 Christie children shown here were the offspring of William and Frances and this is pretty well confirmed by both of them being with William and Frances at the time of the 1939 register. It looks like they had 2 others, one entry still closed (as at 19 Jan 2017), and Alan W.
