- From Mary Wigan transcribed data on KFHS CD 12, shows William BROWNE married Benetta WATTS, witnesses were Geo Hovenden and Geo Brockhull. I am a bit suspicious about the witnesses - not generally recorded at this time, these same names appear against 3 entries, one as early as 1541! May be signing the page as a true record, with the entries being copied when it was required that register books were used?
