(I have not seen this will - Vincent is rather on the fringe of my tree, so it is low priority for me)
    Died 1 Oct 1558
    • From brass in Goodnestone Church
Probate Nov 1558  Consistory Court, Canterbury, Kent, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location
    • Probably proved in the Consistory Court; the ref for the register copy if PRC/32/27/252 implying this, but the ref for the original is PRC/16/25 B/22 - the register of the Archdeaconry Court.
Buried Holy Cross Church, Goodnestone next Wingham, Kent, England See the place on a map and other information about it - if available (many more will be in time); also all individuals with events at this location
    • From brass in Goodnestone Church:
"Here lyeth Vincent Boys Gentylman, who Decessed the first daye
of October the yere of our lorde God, M CCCCC lviii : beinge of the
age of xxxvii yeres : who had to wyfe, Mary the Daughter of John
Honewod Esquier and lafte her lyvinge with thre Sonnes and foure
Daughters wch Mary dyed the [blank] daye of [blank]"
On the same stone is a square with the Boys arms. Interestingly, in 1758 the Rev Bryan Faussett the grave as having the BOYS arms impaling Honeywood, under the figures of a man and woman.

This shield with Boys impaling Honeywood is now on the same stone as Vincent's great grandparents, William and Isabel. Perhaps they were accidentally swapped when the church was significantly altered in the C19th. It looks as though this error may have been recognized locally, as a board near the church about the village shows 'Brass of William and Isabella Boys and their children'. William and Isabel and children it is, but the arms is the brass now on the stone of Vincent and Mary.
