The first of 3 consecutive private baptisms at the end of August, it looks like an infection may have been going around to which young babies were vulnerable. (The other two, Albert Adams and Mary Jane Milway, also had their births and deaths registered the same qtr, q3 1871) Although the date is clearly shown as 24th in the PR, it would appear an error was made when the entry was added as William had died (and his death registered) on the 23rd.
