(evidence for this being the right birth, despite different order of names:
1. a witness at the wedding of Catherine was a John Richard DUNSTONE. Checking his birth finds his mother's maiden name to be DAY. Looking for other children in the family finds Eliza Catherine, with a birthplace and a date matching those from other sources for Catherine.
2. Looking for a marriage of a DUNSTONE groom to a DAY bride at the right time to be parents of the children finds a Joseph as the groom; this matches the name given as Catherine's father when she married.
3. When she married Catherine's father was shown as a carpenter. Looking at the family I believe to be hers in censuses shows her father as 'pianoforte key maker' in 1861, and 'bent timber planer' in 1871 - clearly a woodworker who could be given the more general description of carpenter.
4. 'Eliza Catherine' is shown simply as 'Catherine' in the 1871 census; her mother was Eliza and I guess her second name was used to distinguish her.

The 1911 census shows that James and Catherine had had 11 children, but 4 had by then died. Looking for all births with a surname Denton, and mother's maiden name Dunstone or similar sounding only finds the two who had died in infancy.
