    • His wife is described as a widow in the 1871 census; date range shown here assumes that all Mary's sons shown in the 1871 census were his. BUT in the 1881 census she is still an Andrews, it looks like with the marital status or "W" changed to "Mar", with 2 more children born since 1871!
      Given that the last of Mary Ann's sons  born before 1871 was born in Westfield, Sussex I have included Sussex in looking for his death, but none close to his age died in this period.

      No dths registered in Bridge RD in this period; since his family were back in Hackington in 1871 they may have moved there before this death. One dth in Blean RD - in q1 1870. The death index shows his age as 47 which would imply a year of birth as about 1822. Probably close enough that it could be him.
