    Notes
    • (Research):A John King of Chislet married in 1707, licence info:
"King, John, of Chislet, husb., ba., and
Mary Cullen of Westbere, spr. At
      W. May 26, 1707."
(from Cowper, 5th series, col. 279)

It was presumably this couple whose son was baptised in Westbere in Dec 1707, and who was given the name Ambrose. The use of this unusual name suggests John was closely related to James who also gave the name to a son, , maybe John was a son of James,  although it is possibly it was a name that had been used in the King family for some generations.
If John was James' son it was most likely by his second wife Dorothy, as there wasn't time in James' brief marriage to the first Dorothy.
