GRO ref: CURLING, Female q3 1839 Et Ashford RD 5 6; GRO online index shows mother's maiden name as Foster Mostly when no forename is recorded it is because a baby died unnamed. However, in some cases it seems that a name simply had not been chosen at the time the birth was registered. Here I think the latter was the case - there is no sign of a death registration. Whilst the age given in the censuses suggests a birth in 1838 or early 1839, which would probably have been registered no latter than q2 1839, ages often seem to have been rounded up when a birthday was approaching and I think that that is probably what happened here.
