VI (1426-7) which would mean he could not have been born in 1420, but interestingly the list of Sheriffs on Wikipedia has Sir William Courtney, not Bampfield, as Sheriff in 1426, and although several following generations did serve a term as Sheriff there is no entry for William in the list.
