Gender Male Military Service Between 1914 and 1918 Devonshire Regiment in WW1 - Conrad served as a Second Lieutenant in the Devonshire Regiment, a Lieutenant in the Royal Tank Corps and a Lieutenant in the Armoured Car Company.
Property From 1945 to 1984 Sildeholmen Island, Kristiansand, Norway
- Conrad's will shows that he owned the Island of Sildeholmen in Norway.
There is an interesting article in a blog post about it: English translation (post in Norwegian).
The article says he bought it 'in 1945, or just after'. He bequeathed it to his son in his will, but in Norway they didn't know who owned it and it took a lot of effort to discover; Kristiansand municipality bought it from the family in the early C21st.
It is a very small, rocky island, about 500 feet long, and with no dwelling.
In his will he said:
"But it is my wish although without imposing any legal obligation that my son should allow my wife ot have the use and enjoyment of it in common with my son for the duartion of her life if she so wishes and it shall not be sold during her lifetime without her consent."
A strange wish, if as the article claims, he had kept it a secret.

Military Service 1948 Received the King Haakon VII Liberty [Freedom] Medal - Conrad appears in a list of those receiving this medal, and in a longer list of those receiving 'Decorations conferred by His Majesty the King of Norway'.
The medal indicates he had provided significant service to Norway during WW2. (Wikipedia article)
The overall heading was preceeded by the notice from the War Office:
"The KING has been pleased to grant unrestricted permission for the wearing of the following decorations which have been conferred on the under-mentioned personnel in recognition of distinguished services in the cause of the Allies -"
(from the Supplement to the London Gazette, 19 March, 1948, p. 1920)
