Gender Male Military Service From 13 Jun 1906 to 6 Jun 1917 Queen's Own (Royal West Kent) Regiment - Edward was discharged as physically unfit during WW1. With the pages damaged the date of this discharge is missing. However, the record shows that as well as a G.S.W. (gun shot wound) in 1915 to his back, he received another on 3 Oct 1916 to his left foot, which resulted in amputation of his foot. Not surprisingly he returned home, on 4 Oct, but seems to have been kept as enlisted until 6 Jun 1917.
As well as the 1914 Star and British War and Victory Medals, Edward received the Indian Durbar Coronation medal before the war.
