Family 1 Robert PHILLIPS, d. Aft 1692
Other Partners: Mary BEDLAKEMarriage License 16 Apr 1667 Subsequently annulled - "Phillippes, Robert, of Deal, seaman,
widr., and Honor Long, s. p., w. of
John Long, late s. p., seaman. At
Deal or Sholden. Allegation made
by Robert Ockman of Deal, yeom.
April 16, 1667." - with a note "Vacat"
written in the margin. This indicates that the marriage licence was annulled. Presumably someone pointed out that Honour was Robert's deceased wife's sister. It would seem this happened soon after the licence was issued, as no marriage seems to have occurred. Regardless, Robert and Honour appear to have lived as man and wife, and the baptisms of 4 children are recorded in the parish registers.with Honour shown as Robert's wife.
