    • GRO ref: GRO ref: BEANEY, Louisa to PENFOLD, William Edward q4 1908 Dover RD 2a 2305
Date and church from FS (although images of the banns register is on FMP, the marriage register is not)

The GRO index shows the groom as William Edward, the transcribed data from the PR as Edward. An error or maybe a discrepancy between the name in the groom's name field and his signature. (PR entry to be seen)

I suspect this couple were the couple who were in Dover, listed as Edward and Lucy, in the 1911 census. They are shown as having completed 2 years of marriage, which is right, and have two sons with them. Finding the birth reg for one it gives his mother's maiden name as Beaney. There was possibly a Penfold = Beaney marriage in 1892, but the groom was Henry, the possible bride Elizabeth, and no known link to Dover which seems to confirm Edward and Lucy were almost certainly (William) Edward and Louisa. No further children - did Louisa die later in the year?
