Stephen EMMERSON

Abt 1838 - Yes, date unknown

 Set As Default Person

• Name	Stephen EMMERSON
  Relationship	with Teresa Ann GOATHAM
Born	Abt 1838	Benwell, Northumberland, England
  Gender	Male
  Occupation	1851
  	Miner
Residence	1861	Row 3, Pelton, Co. Durham, England
With wife and 2 sons, Thomas and Stephen. Age given as 28 - maybe 23 was mis-transcribed, as the family fits that with him and Jane in 1871 when his age was given as 33.
Residence	1871	Urpeth Colliery Village, Urpeth, Co. Durham, England
Stephen and Jane were with their 6 children, Thomas, Stephen, Grace, Bessie, Susannah and Frances, all of whom were at school.
Residence	1881	121, Pelton, Co. Durham, England
Stephen and Jane were with 7 children - Thomas and Grace were no longer at home, and added since the previous census were Agnes, Anthony and William. Now there were only 3 children in the family at school, the youngest Anthony not yet having started, so there were 3 additional incomes to help support the family: Stephen was like his father a coal miner, while Elizabeth and Susannah although living at home were working as domestic servants.
