"Mary wife of John Brown _ Burd. [Feb.] 21"

If this Mary Brown was the mother of Stephen and William then I think this is her burial. A different John and Mary Brown had had a son baptised in Herne in 1717 so possibly that Mary; however, it looks like her son Stephen had died a couple of weeks before - they may have died of the same infectious disease - and widower John remarried and named another son Steven.

Under heading "1703" - "William Hilles and Catharine Gotham both of this Parish. - Mar: March the 28th"

(Looks a bit like 20th but the way the 8 is written is found in dates such as Oct the 8th - which clearly isn't Oct the 0th! Significant because it makes nearly a year's difference to the date - and clearly 28th because it comes just after not before the year is entered as a heading)

"John Brown & Mary Hills _ Married Oct. 10th."
It seems likely the sons  shown here were the children of this couple, especially as despite the gap between the marriage and first known child of 9 years there was no marriage of a John Brown to a Mary in Herne. However, the naming of the first son Stephen suggests it may have been John the son of Stephen, baptised 1723, who was the father, and he would have been both unusually young for the period to marry in 1741 and some years younger than Mary, so maybe a couple who had married elsewhere had settled in Herne.
