Entry not clear, definitely a letter after 'Ale' but there is a smudge over it. I think it is an 's' - Ales, a spelling variant of Alice; there is a mark above / slightly to the right which is consistent with other 's's at the end of words, which have a flourish up to the right, but it could be an 'x' with a superscript 'r' i.e. an abbreviation of Alexander. (There is nothing to indicate if the person being buried was male or female).
