"William wallis & Jone Babidg Boath of this p[ar]ish ware maried the first day of Desember"
Unfortunately there were two William and Jone Wallis couples having children at an overlapping time in Abbotskerwell. Some entries have the note 'of South Toune' by them, no doubt to distinguish them from the other couple, but unfortunately not all that must have been children of the 'South Toune' couple.
The earlier children (including Patience) must be the children of this couple as the other William and Joan did not marry until Feb 1716/17.
In 1717/18 there was a Thomas and a William; since this William and Jone's son William was probably still living I think their son was Thomas.
Thomas died in 1719. This suggests the other couple were the 'South Toune' couple, as that was shown in the baptism of William 1717/18.
In 1719/20 a Thomas and a Susanna were baptised; I have no idea which was whose.
In 1721/22 and 1722 two Johns were baptised. The first was shown as of South Toune, so he would seem to be the son of the other couple.
There were three more children after this: Elenore, bap. 1723, Jone, bapt 1724 and Mary, bapt. 1729.
Jone would seem to be the other couple's, as there is nothing to suggest this William and Jone's daughter, baptised in 1714, had died. In addition, Jone bapt. 1724 was shown as of South Toune; this supports that being the abode of the other couple. Mary was also shown as of South Toune so may also be taken as a child of the other couple.
Elenore's baptism was a bit close to that of this couple's John, suggesting she was a child of the other couple, except she was also a bit close to the baptism of their daughter Jone! Elenore did die in 1724, which may well have led to a smaller gap between their children, but even so they would have to have been pregnant again very quickly after Elenore's death, unless the latter had trouble feeding, which may have left her mother fitter to get pregnant again soon after or even before her death.

    • In 1757 a Nathaniel was baptised in West Teignmouth, the entry in the PR showing he was the son of Thomas and Patience, but there seems to have been no such couple!
I think Nathaniel must have been the son of Thomas and Martha or of this couple, Timothy and Patience.
The evidence seems more strongly weighted towards Nathaniel being the son of Thomas and Martha (see full argument for this on Nathaniel's page)
      * Either way, the Nathaniel who married Elizabeth Whidbourne clearly was the son of Thomas and Martha. *
i.e. if the Nathaniel baptised in 1757 was the son of Timothy and Patience he probably died unmarried and childless.
