William GOTHAM
Set As Default Person -
Name William GOTHAM Relationship
with Teresa Ann GOATHAM Born Abt 1587 - I would guess that William was born in the gap between the marriage of the couple I believe to be his parents and the baptism of the first child of theirs that I know of, i.e. 1584-1587. This would also fit well with the date of Williams marriage, at a period when most people saved up money to be able to afford a home, before marrying.
Gender Male Occupation 1619 Mariner or Sailor - In the survey William was listed as a sailor ('Masters & mariners' listed separately) under 'Withicombe Rawley', shown as aged 31
From survey, transcribed by Todd Gray in 'Early Stuart Mariners and Shipping' (DCRS, 1990, p.48)
(more details to be added soon)
Buried 20 Sep 1668 St. Margaret and St. Andrew’s Church, Littleham with Exmouth, Devon, England

GOTHAM, b. Est 1520, d. Yes, date unknown (Grandfather)
Thomasin KINGE, b. Est 1558, d. Yes, date unknown (Mother)
Notes - Am guessing that William was a son of Vyncent from his calling a son "Vinesen" AND both families being in Withycombe Raleigh - and the lack of evidence of other families in the vicinity at the time.

Father Vyncent GOTHAM, b. Est 1555, (possibly), Withycombe Raleigh, Devon, England
, bur. 19 Aug 1598, St. John in the Wilderness’ Church, Withycombe Raleigh, Devon, England
(Age ~ 43 years) Mother Thomasin KINGE, b. Est 1558, d. Yes, date unknown Married 6 Jul 1584 St. John in the Wilderness’ Church, Withycombe Raleigh, Devon, England

"Vyncent Gotham to Thomasin Kinge the vith of Julye" - '1584' in the margin.
Baptisms in the PRs jump from June 1592 to March 1593/4, a gap of about 21 months when the number of baptisms per year was normally in double figures. One or two of the Richard who was described as a son of Vyncent at his burial, as well as William and Jane who I suspect were offspring of Vyncent and Thomasin could have been baptised in this gap, or before the first known baptism of a child (Elizabeth in 1588) or have been missed in the PRs at another time.
